Data Breach At Tampa Bay Area Bank

TAMPA - Customers of one Bay Area bank should check their bank statements and apply for a new debit card after a data breach last week.

Bank Atlantic confirms they had a data loss, involving their MasterCard debit cards.

A spokesperson says it happened through a local merchant, but at this time, isn't saying which one.

One customer told FOX 13 he was notified by phone Friday. He was told an investigation is ongoing, but in the meantime, come to the bank to get a replacement card.

The Florida Attorney General's office is investigating. There's no word on how many customers are involved.
