Security Breach Prompts Bank to Replace ATM Cards
www.InsideINdianaBusiness.com - 06/05/08

Indiana-based 1st Source Bank is replacing all ATM cards for account holders after an unknown amount of related information was exposed. The Fort Wayne Journal Gazette reports cyber-thieves accessed the data. An official tells the paper the bank has not received any reports of other suspicious activity.

The cards are being changed out of what the 1st Source calls "an overabundance of care."

Computer security consultants noticed the breach on May 12. It's believed that's the same day hackers accessed the debit card information. The bank was alerted and a computer system was shut down.

The Journal Gazette reports the bank's entire computer system is now being reviewed for potential weaknesses.
